Our story
VividTide Studio began in a small Oakland studio apartment when founders Maya Chen and Jordan Ellis started teaching weekend workshops on visual systems. Word spread quickly among designers who wanted to move past subjective taste and into measurable, reasoned visual decisions. By the end of 2020 the studio had moved into its first dedicated space, published its first curriculum, and welcomed over 400 students across five cohorts.
Today the studio serves a global community of practicing designers, strategists, and educators who return each quarter to sharpen their craft and contribute to the living curriculum.
